OPEN CIRCUIT DIVING

TDI Nitrox Diver Course is an entry-level course for divers wishing to continue their diver education and utilize enriched air nitrox as a breathing gas to extend no-decompression limits at depth.

Who this course is for:
The open water diver who is interested in learning more about nitrox mixtures
The open water diver who is interested in extending their bottom time
The certified diver who has interest in moving forward with technical diving education

The TDI Advanced Nitrox Course qualifies divers to use enriched air nitrox from EAN 21 through EAN 100 percent within your current certification level to a maximum depth of 40 metres/130 feet during dives that do not require staged decompression. Often taught in conjunction with the TDI Decompression Procedures course, this can be considered the foundation of your technical diving career. TDI Advanced Nitrox is also a must for SCR or CCR divers.

TDI DECOMPRESSION PROCEDURES DIVER. As sport divers, planned decompression is not something that we do or have been taught.The TDI Decompression Procedures Course prepares you for planned staged decompression diving. With a maximum operating depth of 45 metres/150 feet, this course is your first step beyond the normal sport diving limits. The TDI Decompression Procedures Course combined with the TDI Advanced Nitrox course form the foundation of all other technical courses. After these two courses and some additional experience, the stage has been set for you to move onto additional technical levels.

Who this course is for:
The certified Advanced Diver looking to expand their knowledge of decompression theory and diving techniques
The certified Advanced Diver who is interested in extending their bottom time
The certified Advanced Diver who has interest in moving forward with technical diving education

The TDI Helitrox Diver Course examines the theory, methods, and procedures for planning staged decompression dives utilizing helium in the breathing mixture to reduce the effects of inert gas narcosis.

The TDI Helitrox Diver Course trains divers how to plan and conduct staged decompression dives to a maximum depth of 45 metres/150 feet. The most common equipment requirements, gear set-up, and decompression techniques are also presented during this course. Students are permitted to utilize enriched air nitrox and helium mixes with no greater than 20% helium content, and up to 100% oxygen for decompression diving.

This program is designed as a stand-alone course, or it may be taught in conjunction with TDI Advanced Nitrox at the discretion of the instructor.

TDI EXTENDED RANGE DIVER.. Certain areas of the world provide spectacular dives at depths deeper than 39 metres/130 feet but you may not have access (or very limited access) to helium. The TDI Extended Range course teaches you the proper techniques for utilizing compressed air as a breathing gas, and with a maximum depth of 55 metres/180 feet, so you don’t have to miss those dives! The TDI Extended Range Diver Course provides the training and experience necessary including proper techniques, equipment requirements, and hazards of deep air diving, to competently utilize air for dives up to 55 metres/180 feet that require staged decompression, using nitrox mixtures or oxygen during decompression.

TDI TRIMIX DIVER. Are you looking to expand your depth range? Do you want to reduce narcosis during deep dives? The TDI Trimix Diver Course could be your next step! As your motivation to explore progresses, you will find that you may want to go deeper to dive that wreck that is part of history or that cave system that you have read so much about. One of the major limiting factors of going deeper is narcosis; TDI’s Trimix Diver course shows how to minimize the effects of narcosis by adding helium to offset the nitrogen in your breathing gas. While taking the Trimix Diver course your TDI Instructor will teach you how to plan and execute dives utilizing as little as 18 percent oxygen and diving to maximum depth of 60 metres/200 feet with a blend of helium appropriate for the planned depth.

TDI CCR HELITROX DECOMPRESSION PROCEDURES. This is the second level certification course for divers wishing to utilize a Closed Circuit Rebreather (CCR) for mixed gas diving using a Helitrox Diluent. The objective of the course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for diving a CCR and to develop basic CCR diving skills, to a maximum of 45 metres/150 feet, using an air/nitrox/helium diluent for formal decompression diving. Students are permitted to utilize a diluent and bailout mix with no greater than a 20% helium content and no less than a 21% oxygen content, and are permitted to use up to 100% oxygen for decompression.

TDI CCR MIXED GAS DIVER. As a TDI CCR Air Diluent Decompression or Helitrox Diluent Decompression Diver, the TDI Mixed Gas CCR Diver course is your next step into closed circuit rebreather diving, it is your opportunity to explore a little deeper. Using the latest in technology CCR’s maximize your gas supply and provide the optimum breathing gas for any depth by maintaining a constant partial pressure of oxygen (PPO2). During the dives your TDI Instructor will teach you all the necessary skills to conduct CCR dives utilizing helium as a diluent gas and oxygen levels as low as 16 percent to a maximum depth of 60 metres/200 feet.

TDI ADVANCED MIX GAS CLOSED CIRCUIT REBREATHER DIVER COURSE. The highest level of Closed Circuit Rebreather (CCR) training that TDI offers, the Advanced Mixed Gas Course will teach you how to use the full capabilities of a CCR. With a maximum depth of 100 metres/330 feet, this course opens up a whole new realm of diving including new wrecks, caves and walls to explore in depths you previously could not reach on a rebreather. This intensive course conducted over seven dives will focus on all the elements needed to plan and execute dives to these depths.

Upon successful completion of the TDI Diver Propulsion Vehicle Specialty training, the student will be able to: demonstrate comprehension of the practical knowledge necessary for DPV diving, properly plan and safely conduct DPV dives, and implement techniques and procedures to manage and minimize DPV diving hazards.

The objective of this course is the perfection of skills taught in the TDI Cavern Diving Program, in addition to the adoption of additional techniques and procedures required for elementary mine dives. This course may be combined with TDI Mine Diver Level II at the discretion of the instructor.This course uses the same principles and techniques as the TDI Intro to Cave Course, including utilizing the same training materials and equipment. However, dual certification is not permitted and graduates wishing to dive in caves must complete the TDI Intro to Cave Course.

Cavern divers who are interested in learning techniques for diving in flooded mines

TDI MINE DIVER LEVEL II
This course is the second stage of training in the TDI Mine Diver Development Program. This course is not intended to prepare divers for evaluating all facets of mine diving. The objective of this course is to expand and critique previous skills accomplished in the TDI Cavern and Mine Diver Level I Programs. Emphasis is placed upon dive planning and skill perfection through actual mine penetration. This course may be combined with TDI Mine Diver Level I at the discretion of the instructor.TDI Mine Diver II uses the same principles and techniques as the TDI Full Cave Course, including utilizing the same training materials and equipment. However, dual certification is not permitted and graduates wishing to dive in caves must complete the TDI Full Cave Course.

TDI CAVE SURVEYING DIVER. The TDI Cave Survey Diver Course is designed to give the trained cave diver the minimum knowledge and basic fundamental skills of how to survey in the unique underwater cave environment. The intention of this program is to encourage a standardization of cave surveying on all projects; encourage the use of cave maps in dive planning while increasing the diver’s awareness and knowledge of the surrounding environment. Safe techniques, procedures and skill perfection associated with surveying in cave diving is emphasized.

Who this course is for:
The certified TDI Full Cave Diver (or equivalent) interested in learning how to survey underwater caves

TDI STAGE CAVE DIVER. The TDI Stage Cave Diver Course is designed to teach trained cave divers how to extend bottom times and/or penetration distance through the use of stage cylinders. Divers will learn to plan dives that may incorporate longer bottom times, complex dive planning, and multiple methods of gas management. With respect to depth, gas mixes, and required decompression, course dives will not exceed the student’s current level of certification and experience level.

Who this course is for:
The certified TDI Full Cave Diver (or equivalent) looking to extend their penetration limits

TDI CAVE DPV DIVER. This course is designed to teach trained cave divers how to utilize Diver Propulsion Vehicles (DPVs) in the cave environment. Divers will learn about safe DPV use, DPV components, and care and maintenance. Students will learn to plan dives that may incorporate extended penetration, longer bottom times, complex dive planning, and proper methods of gas management.

Who this course is for:
The certified TDI Full Cave Diver or equivalent with a minimum of 25 logged cave dives.
The certified cave diver looking to expand their diving range, abilities, and skills.
